July to take part in activities.
cricket tournament took place on Thursday 9th July - an admirable
effort - well done team!
Wednesdsay 8th July, selected pupils took part in a gymnastics
competition at Beaminster Sports Hall. Well done to all who
Hardy pupils took part in the Multiskills Festival at Beaminster
School on the morning of Friday 3rd July and in the afternoon,
pupils, staff, family and friends were entertained by our Year 6
Leavers in their performance - visit the

Wednesdsay 1st July, William Barnes class visited Beaminster School
to watch 'Travelling by Tuba' and Thomas Hardy class spent the day
at Axe Valley Wildlife Park - photos to follow, keep an eye on the
30th June, the pupils of Jane Austen class joined with pupils from
the other cluster schools to take part in a sports event at
Barnes class enjoyed a morning of musical entertainment on Tuesday
30th June at the Lighthouse Theatre in Poole, listening to the
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in action. This year's theme
was 'Fairytale and Fantasy'
eventually showed its face for our reserve date Sports Day on Monday
29th June! Well done to all the pupils!
Our Year 6
students enjoyed 3 action-packed days away on their residential trip
which took place from Wednesday 17th to Friday 19th June.
A group of
our pupils joined students from other schools to take part in the
ACM Choir Project at Weymouth Pavilion on Monday 15th June - a day
of rehearsals was followed by a rousing performance to family and
friends in the evening.
Our Year 2
& Year 5 pupils spent the morning at LV=Streetwise and participated
in many activities promoting safety in and around our homes.
27th March all pupils visited the church to 'Experience Easter' ~ an
interactive way of retelling the Easter Story. This was
followed by our Easter service in the church.
Bingo on Thursday 26th March raised in excess of £160! Thank
you to Broadwindsor PTA for organising the event and to all those
who donated prizes.
enjoyed participating in a series of 'Stomp' workshops on Thursday
26th March ~ some creative and impressive performances!
20th March the pupils of William Barnes class travelled to
Freshwater Holiday Park to take part in the Dance Festival.
The pupils also had the chance to have a go at bowling. Visit

pupils attended the West Dorset Primary Leadership Academy at
Redlands Community Hub in Weymouth on Thursday 19th March to train
as Bronze Young Ambassadors. They now look forward to taking
on their new roles and responsibilities in increasing participation
and healthy lifestyles in school, promoting the positive values of
sport, acting as ambassadors and role models advocating PE and
school sport and being the young people's voice on PE and school
sport at Broadwindsor School.
Our Year 5
& 6 pupils participated in the annual Cluster Choral Festival at
Beaminster School on Wednesday 18th March - a rousing performance as
Olympic rhythmic gymnast &
Commonwealth bronze medallist, Lynne Hutchison, joined us for the
afternoon to host the Team Superschools sponsored event for all pupils.
tag-rugby team participated in the tournament at Bridport Rugby Club
on Saturday 14th March. An admirable effort! Well done
to all who took part!
Shakespeare Company paid their annual visit to us on Friday 13th
March. This year the performance was 'Hamlet'. As usual,
the students were enthralled and actively encouraged to participate.

A group of
our Year 6 students organised a bake sale to raise funds for Red
Nose day on Thursday 12th March. The event was a
complete sell-out! Thank you to all for the kind donations.
6th March all our pupils took part in skipping workshops in which
they learnt a selection of moves, including individual moves,
double-dutch, long rope and partner skipping.

the Safe Schools and Community team visited us on Thursday 5th
March. They were with us all day and spent time in each class
to help our pupils learn about e-safety.
full of 45 happy people left Broadwindsor School on the morning of
Friday 16th January, bound for Birmingham. Their mission was
for the 24 children. plus 3 accompanying adults, to take part in
Young Voices 2015, the largest schools concert series in the world.
rehearsed with almost 6000 other children during the afternoon and
then the remaining adults, parents and friends joined them in the
evening to watch the concert.
The children performed a
variety of songs including songs from the musicals of Andrew Lloyd
Webber, a medley of songs as a tribute to Nelson Mandela and part of
Mozart's Requiem with a 'rock' band! They also sang with
'real' up and coming stars such as Lucy Spraggan and boy band Mic
