Jane Austen pupils enjoyed a day of Olympic Events at Beaminster School on Tuesday 28th June.

Pupils and parents learnt more about internet safety during our E-safety day on Monday 27th June - a subject which becomes increasingly more important with the advances in internet communication including social media.

Please take some time to read the information given at these sessions & remember the most important thing for parents and carers is to have lots of conversations with their children and young people about what they are using, how these website/apps work, why they enjoy them, who else is using them etc.  In this way they may be able to identify any risky content, inappropriate contact or conduct at an early stage.

Our Year 6 leavers put on a very entertaining performance for staff, pupils and parents on Friday 24th June.

What a talented bunch!  They will be missed.  Photos on the class page.

On Thursday 23rd June, our Year 2 and Year 5 pupils visited Streetwise in Bournemouth to learn more about safety issues in the home and the local environment.

12 of our pupils, accompanied by Mrs Killick, took part in the ACM Gospel Choir event at Weymouth Pavilion on Monday 13th June.  The children participated enthusiastically and the singing was fantastic!

February 2016

We made the most of our extra Leap Year day this year, with the Young Shakespeare Company visiting us in the morning and a cake sale to round off the busy day!

The Young Shakespeare Company visited us on Monday 29th February and, through active storytelling, helped our Key Stage 2 pupils to explore Shakespeare’s play ‘The Tempest’.  As always, the children were given the opportunity to explore and define the world of the play through imaginative and creative involvement.  They enjoyed speaking Shakespeare’s words and exploring different ways of saying them and became involved in the world of the play by putting themselves in the shoes of the characters and imagining how they feel.

The day ended with a Leap Year Day Cake Sale raising money for Unicef and the school
