The Governors of Broadwindsor School work together with staff, parents/carers and outside agencies to ensure that all pupils receive the best education possible. The Board of Governors does this by establishing strategic direction for the school, ensuring accountability and financial probity.
Governors meet regularly to discuss, plan and evaluate matters related to the short and long term future of the school. This means that the Board look at curriculum provision, attainment and progress of pupils, arrangements for the safety & well-being of pupils, staffing, finance, building & maintenance.
This Governing Board has traditionally had the following structure of meetings - Full Governing Body plus two Committees – Finance and Curriculum. For the remainder of the 2016/17 academic year, Governors are trialling a structure of Full Governing Body meetings only.
Governors like to attend as many school events as possible so that they may be available to parents/carers for feedback or queries.
An annual questionnaire is circulated to parents/carers to enable views to be gathered on important issues of school provision and care.
A periodic newsletter is also circulated, usually with a theme, to highlight the work or experiences of the Governing Body.
