Welcome to William Barnes Class

Welcome to William Barnes Class, where our Year 2, 3 and 4 children enjoy a rich, engaging and inspiring curriculum in a happy and supportive learning environment.

We have made a fantastic start to the Autumn Term and are already fully immersed in our learning, from exciting English texts such as Staying Out! and Emily Brown and The Thing, to developing our mathematical understanding and exploring the wonders of science with "Jeffery" the skeleton.

Our days begin with reading, spelling and morning tasks that help children settle into learning and build strong routines. Reading is at the heart of everything we do, and we encourage children to develop a lifelong love of books through regular reading at school and at home. Alongside English and Maths, children enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum that includes Science, History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Computing, French, Music, RE, PE and PSHE.

This term promises to be full of exciting opportunities, including ukulele lessons, creative projects, sporting activities and memorable learning experiences. We are particularly proud of the enthusiasm, kindness and ambition our children demonstrate every day as they embrace new challenges and support one another in their learning.

William Barnes Class is supported by a dedicated team of staff who work together to ensure every child feels valued, encouraged and able to thrive. We look forward to sharing our learning and achievements with you throughout the year and working in partnership with families to make this a successful and enjoyable year for every child.
